Used car exports are increasingly "inbook"

In the past two years, affected by international relations, European and American car companies have withdrawn from the Russian market, leaving a gap in the market is attracting the influx of Chinese parallel imported cars. In May this year, the Russian newspaper Izvestia quoted Russian experts on the Avto.ru website as saying that the current Russian market advertising of Chinese "used" electric vehicles was three times that of the beginning of the year.

While the opportunities are great, the competitive pressure for used-car exporters is also increasing. In Zhang Tingting's view, the current global auto market is not on a high-speed growth track, China's used car exports to a large extent is not driven by the increase of overseas markets, but in Japan, South Korea and other countries of the car stock market share, but these competitors will certainly not indifferent, will inevitably find ways to fight back.

Japan is the world's largest exporter of used cars, and Russia is the main market for Japanese used cars. Japan E-Stat government statistics network data show that in 2021, Japan's used car exports as high as 1,24,900, covering 166 countries and regions around the world, of which there are 3 countries with exports of more than 100,000 vehicles, respectively, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand.

In addition, competition among domestic used-car exporters is intensifying. Zhang Tingting said that in the past, overseas used car procurement enterprises would first pay 20%-30% of the purchase deposit to domestic export enterprises, and then domestic export enterprises to purchase vehicles, and collect the balance immediately after the completion of the export declaration. Now the pilot enterprises are increasing, the industry is becoming more and more "volume", many companies are building overseas warehouses, customers can see the car at the door, do not need to pay a deposit and wait for vehicle procurement, and do not have to bear the risk of exchange rate, car price changes and so on.
