The rapid growth of China's new car export volume has driven the export of second-hand cars, but this golden export period is short. To achieve stable and long-term development of second-hand car exports, it is necessary to focus on derivative services such as after-sales and modification, and transform from exporting products to building a system.
Recently, China's automobile exports to Russia have skyrocketed, but in reality, Russia has passively chosen Chinese automobile brands. Enterprises should pay attention to differentiated competition and layout their industrial chains, while not putting all eggs in one basket. Establishing a second-hand car export system requires the support of many supporting services, and enterprise business needs to pay attention to risk control. Used car export enterprises can conduct business both online and offline simultaneously, leveraging the resources of international platforms such as Alibaba and leveraging their geographical advantages to establish their core advantages.
Yang Jun introduced that since last year, there have been good opportunities in both the Russian and Central Asian markets. In 2008, foreign businessmen who mentioned China's exports of automobiles still shook their heads, but now their attitude has greatly improved.
Although the proportion of new energy vehicles in China's automobile exports has significantly increased, from the perspective of international demand, the mainstream is still second-hand fuel vehicles. From the perspective of vehicle age, a test drive car that is less than a year old has a certain profit margin when exporting due to its good condition and relatively low depreciation rate in foreign countries compared to China. In addition, domestic operating vehicles that have a retirement period of more than 1 year and are about to retire can be used as a source of second-hand car exports, as they can still be used on the road abroad.
According to Luo Sicheng, China's second-hand car exports have relatively high requirements for vehicle condition and also face high tariffs from abroad. International "scalpers" will send foreign demand to multiple companies at the same time, and domestic enterprises have little say in pricing, squeezing the profits of second-hand car exports. In terms of vehicle sources, no company or independent department can complete the information collection of large-scale vehicle sources, so it requires the joint participation of trading markets, car dealers, second-hand car network platforms, and other entities. In terms of second-hand car repair, policy support from the government and land support from the market and parks are needed in order to put the circulation of dismantled and remanufactured parts on track and effectively serve the entire second-hand car export industry.
