According to the Country Guide for China's Used Car Export (2021), as of June 2021, China has exported 10,889 used cars with a total export value of $68.847,000 and an average unit price of $6,322.6. Among them, 3,488 used cars were exported in the first half of 2021, with the export amount of $32.892 million, increasing 1.4 times and 3.3 times respectively. The average unit price is $9,430, nearly double the 2020 price of $4,821.1.

Compared with the number of cars in China, the volume of exported second-hand cars is very small.

By the end of November 2022, the number of motor vehicles in China reached 415 million. In terms of used car circulation in China, data from the China Automobile Dealers Association showed that in the first 10 months of 2022, the country's used car market had a cumulative transaction volume of 13.333 million cars.

It can be seen that there is still a large gap between the number of used cars exported and the trading volume of used cars in China. Based on the experience of mature markets in developed countries, exports can account for as much as 10% of used car sales.

"European and American countries export more used cars, mainly because the used car market in their countries is saturated. "The market for used cars in China is far from saturated." Wang Jie said.
