The export volume of second-hand cars has repeatedly reached new highs
Since the launch of the pilot program for the export of second-hand cars in China in 2019, the export volume of second-hand cars has repeatedly reached new highs. According to customs data, China's second-hand car exports were about 15000 units in 2021, but by 2022, this figure had jumped to 69000 units, a year-on-year increase of over 350%. Among them, the export performance of new energy second-hand cars is particularly impressive, becoming the main business sector of second-hand car export enterprises.
At the policy level, in February this year, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and other five departments jointly issued a notice, deciding to implement the registration and review system for second-hand car export enterprises from March 1st. This marks the comprehensive deployment of second-hand car export business from the pilot stage to the whole country. Afterwards, many local governments and relevant departments actively responded and held work promotion meetings to guide enterprises in completing related businesses such as second-hand car export filing applications, license applications, export customs clearance, and cancellation registration, in order to promote the standardized and orderly development of second-hand car exports.
