In recent years, China's used car export business has made remarkable progress, not only formed a number of replicable promotion experience, but also played a positive role in promoting the stable scale and excellent structure of foreign trade and the upgrading of domestic automobile consumption. According to relevant data, China's used car exports continue to grow, and export models are gradually stable, among which new energy used cars have become the main business segment of exports.

In order to promote the development of second-hand car export business, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other five departments jointly issued the relevant announcement, decided to implement the second-hand car export enterprise record review system from March 1, 2024, which means that the second-hand car export business from the pilot to the full scale of the country.

With the support of local governments and relevant departments, some qualified enterprises actively carry out second-hand car export business and constantly explore new export models and channels. For example, as the first used car export pilot city in the country, Tianjin's used car export enterprises in the East Xinjiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone have respectively explored the export of engineering vehicles, commercial vehicles, traditional energy and new energy passenger cars in recent years. Among them, the export of new energy used cars has become the main business segment of used car export enterprises due to the booming supply and marketing.
